The English Department Library was founded in 1898 and is one of 48 academic libraries belonging to Berne University Library (UB). It is located on the second floor of the Unitobler building.

The library is a specialist academic library available to staff and students of the English Department and other interested persons. Items in the loan section can be borrowed by means of electronic self-loan using an IDS card. Items not on open shelves must be reserved and are available for collection from the library office (B271) after two days. Ordered items will be kept for one week only.
