The Library of Economics is one of the scientific reference libraries of the University Library of Berne.
It offers users access to economic literature. Other services include information, users literarcy and administration.
Economic literature was originally collected in the Library of Law well into the 20th century. Economics subjects gaining in importance the Institute of Economics was founded in 1963. In the premises at Vereinsweg 23 in Länggasse a new library was established with the economics collections from the Library of Law. Teaching and research staff helped to enlarge the collection and set up the book shelving system which is still in use.
In 2006 the Department and the Library moved to UniS. The Research Institute of Leisure and Tourism moved in, too, and its collection was added to the Economics‘ collection.
