Meta search in databases

What is a meta search?

A meta search enables you to use any search term to search in various library catalogs and databases all at the same time. This enables the rapid provision of an initial overview of existing sources on the subject being searched.

However, the search query cannot be constructed as precisely as with a direct search in individual databases. In particular, the search with keywords (subjects) usually remains fairly imprecise.
