Local Courier

A free media courier runs between these libraries in Bern (UB) from Monday to Friday.

Media you ordered via the Bernese Courier are ready for collection from Monday to Friday within max. 48 hours. We send a pickup notification by e-mail.

Swiss Courier / SLSP Courier

• The SLSP-Courier connects the courier libraries of the new Swiss library network. With SLSP-courier it is possible for you to have books delivered from one library to another against a fee of CHF 6 per ordered document.
• Pick-up libraries: Basisbibliothek Unitobler, Münstergasse Library, vonRoll library, Medical Library, Mittelstrasse Library , Law Library and Swiss Library of Eastern Europe.
• We will send a pickup notification by e-mail as soon as the media is ready for pickup.

National and international Loan

The University Library locates documents from Switzerland and abroad, which are not available in the Bernese libraries and also cannot be ordered for the desired collection point (Basisbibliothek Unitobler, Münstergasse Library, vonRoll Library, Library of Law or Medical Library) by the SLSP-courier. The loan conditions are governed by the policies of the owning library. The home-loan service cannot be guaranteed (see article 7 of the Regulations on Use).

Tariffs

• sourced from CH per document CHF 12.
• sourced from Europa per document actual costs, at least CHF 24.
• sourced from UK and overseas per document actual costs, at least CHF 36.

Delivery times

• Switzerland: 1-2 weeks.
• Germany, Great Britain, Austria, Scandinavia, Spain: 2-4 weeks.
• France, Italy, Eastern Europe, Overseas: 4-8 weeks (not guaranteed).
