Amboss
Learning app for medicine
To use AMBOSS, you need to sign up and create an account. When registering, please select “Kostenfrei testen” and follow the instructions — as a student at the University of Bern, you have unlimited free access to the German* version of AMBOSS.
Step-by-step guide
- Connect to the campus network via eduroam Wi-Fi or VPN. Please ensure that you are using the University of Bern login credentials and not those of another institution.
- Log in at www.amboss.com/de. Any existing personal AMBOSS account can be used — or, if you do not yet have access, simply register with any email address (do NOT sign up or log in via an institution).
- Click the profile icon and select “Konto verwalten”, then navigate to “Klinik- & Campuslizenz”.
- Select “Neue Lizenz hinzufügen” and choose “Campuslizenz Uni Bern” from the drop-down menu. If you are connected to the campus network (see step 1), you will then need to enter your @students.unibe.ch email address.
- A verification email with an activation link will be sent to your @students.unibe.ch address, after which the licence will be activated.
IP authentication for initial activation
For first-time activation of the campus licence, you must be connected to the University of Bern IP network (eduroam or VPN).
Convenient mobile use thereafter (IP-independent)
After successful initial activation, you do not need to remain on the university network to use AMBOSS continuously. It is sufficient to access AMBOSS via VPN or the university network once every 30 days.
A detailed guide can also be found on Amboss.
