DOI-Service
Improving visibility
The University Library of Bern offers members of the university a DOI service, which is managed by the Open Science department. This service is currently under development.
The DOI service allows publication platforms hosted at the University of Bern but not operated by the University Library to be assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs). With this service, the University Library will be creating the infrastructural basis for making UniBE research results internationally visible, referenceable, and reusable, in line with the FAIR data principles and the expectations of research funding agencies.
What is a DOI?
A DOI is a permanent, unique identifier for digital objects. It ensures that research results remain findable, correctly citable, and linked to metadata in the long term. This is particularly important when the URLs of digital objects change over time.
