Books as Data
The Books as Data platform provides researchers with an extensive corpus of digitized books from the years 1700 to 1900. The approximately 450,000 volumes can be searched in full text, downloaded, and further processed for research purposes. The collection thus constitutes a unique digital knowledge space in Switzerland. The project is supported by the University Libraries of Bern and Basel, the Zurich Central Library, and the Lucerne Central and University Library.

Georeferencing of Bern local history
Through additional links to external websites, existing digitized data and bibliographic metadata with a reference to localities in the canton of Bern receive an informational added value. The display on a map (georeferencing) also creates intuitive access to these titles and enables new uses.
