Protective measures

The University Library of Bern would like to protect its customers and employees as well as possible from COVID19. At the same time, services for the university and non-university public should be maintained.
The University of Bern has decided to introduce a certificate obligation and thus to protect people according to scientifically proven methods.

  • A valid Covid certificate is required as of September 1 for:
    • access to reading rooms, group or event rooms, research stations, magazines/newspapers, and lounges
    • our trainings, courses, workshops, etc.
  • No certificate is required for these services: borrowing, returning, consulting, using Uniprint
  • In our libraries - as in all rooms of the University of Bern - masks are mandatory.
  • If you wish a dispensation from the mask obligation as well as a corresponding confirmation, you have to send a request to the Risk Management Office. The request should be accompanied by the medical certificate.
  • Please observe the distance and hygiene rules.
  • Stay home if you have a fever and/or cough.
