Negotiated, Contested, Defended: Human Rights in Central and Eastern Europe

This fall and winter, we focus on human rights in Central and Eastern Europe. Guests from Russia, Belarus, the Caucasus, and Slovakia will share stories about their work and experiences with human rights organizations, as journalists and authors, while legal experts will provide insight into the history of human rights in Central and Eastern Europe and current challenges, especially in the field of constitutional law. Together, we explore the connection between human rights and democracy and the roles that various actors play in defining, securing and enforcing human rights.
